Founded in 2004 by Nick Gregg, formerly European head of technology research at Wall Street firm DLJ (Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette), MarketClusters employs over 35 people and provides solutions to clients in UK, Continental Europe and US. We couple proprietary intelligence technology for monitoring expert blogs and news commentary with our own market analysis techniques to help clients make faster, more informed strategy and investment decisions.
The company is backed by its management, well known technology investors and the NewMedia SPARK venture capital group.
Nick started his career with US strategy consulting firm Monitor Company in Europe and Asia, focusing on clients in the telecoms and media sectors.
From 1996 Nick then spent six years in technology equity research. He firstly established the emerging technology team at HSBC Securities and subsequently ran European software and Internet coverage at Wall Street firm Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (now Credit Suisse), including managing several high-profile Nasdaq and LSE IPOs. Following DLJ.s acquisition he led a number of venture capital investments in early-stage software companies and formally launched MarketClusters in 2004.
Nick also co-founded Milkround Online in 1996. Milkround quickly became the leading UK online graduate recruitment company and was sold in October 2006 to News Corporation.
Nick remains an active seed investor in several successful technology and media companies.
He holds an MA in Engineering from Cambridge University.
Jeremy spent four years from 1993 as a strategy consultant with Accenture, advising on the effective adoption of new communications and distribution technologies.
Jeremy then worked for The Boots Company plc for three years as Business Development Manager, developing new direct-to-consumer offers and partnerships in retail financial services and co-founding Boots Internet Ventures.
Jeremy next became COO and Finance Director of First Property Group plc, an AIM-listed provider of market intelligence and financial solutions to the commercial property sector, building the company up over three years from startup to sustainable profitability with multi-£m turnover, through organic growth and multiple acquisitions, before co-founding MarketClusters.
Jeremy holds an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.
Rory began his career as an executive in the independent film / tv production industry in Canada and was an early adopter of digital media technologies. He has previously worked for award winning production company Galafilm Inc. as well as Ireland.s national Broadcaster RTE. In 2001, Rory founded Tangerine Media, a digital media start-up and served as Executive Producer for three years developing and delivering content in comedy, music and short fiction.
Making a move to London, Rory then joined MarketClusters and was instrumental in the global launch of the StrategyEye service and building the initial client base across a range of major media corporates in both UK and North America. As VP Business Development, responsibilities include input into company strategy and fast tracking client growth across a range of consultative and information intelligence services into the Internet, Media, Technology and Telecoms markets.
Rory holds a B.A in Media Studies and MBA (2004) from Judge Business School, Cambridge University.
Aleksandra Bosnjak is a Lead TMT Analyst for StrategyEye Digital Media. She focuses on digital content distribution strategies, mergers and acquisitions/finance activities across the TMT sector, with a special focus on media companies, technology vendors, telecoms and new media players.
Prior to StrategyEye, Aleksandra spent two years as a content and media analyst for Ovum's Broadband Content and Mobile advisory services where she covered a number of content and media topics, including video on demand business models, content/media regulatory issues, IPTV marketing strategies, media mergers & acquisitions, and broadband and mobile forecasting.
Manoj Badale is the CEO of Netdecisions Investments, and co-founder of the netdecisions Group. He is also on the board of Agilisys, TDX group, Clear Start, Eviivo, BMS and Investors in Cricket. He is the Vice Chairman of Operation Smile and a trustee of Charity Technology. He manages many of the company's and group's key relationships. He was formerly a global account manager at Monitor Company, where he spent significant time in Europe and India. In India, he has worked extensively within media and telecommunications and has sat on the national advisory committee on telecommunications and media policy.
Jay is a director of NewMediaSPARK plc and was part of its founding team in 1999. SPARK is an early stage technology investment company managing $100m of assets. Jay is currently focused on opportunities in the mobile sector and India. He has previously held executive positions at UBS Warburg and BSkyB. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and holds degrees from INSEAD and the London School of Economics.
